How Much do we Charge?
What We Don’t Charge For
Our philosophy is that the happier our clients are, the more likely they are to refer others to us. We go out of our way to make sure every one gets great service, and there’s a lot of stuff we do for free. For example:
- We don’t charge you for consultation about what we’re going to do: if we need to talk about a project we’re going to work on there’s no cost involved.
- We generally don’t charge you for minor changes: if it’s only going to take us a minute do something for you, we just get on with it. Unlike many professional firms, there’s no ‘call out’ fee so if you just want a minor change every now and then (like a phone number for example), we usually won’t charge you for it.
- If something goes wrong and it’s not your fault, you shouldn’t have to pay for it: Sometimes things go wrong, particularly with the Internet, and it’s no-one’s fault. Technical glitches happen, companies go out of business; it can be a minefield. If your old hosting provider or web designer skips town, your server goes bust, or you’re just left in the lurch, we’ll do everything we can to make sure things get back on track for you. Obviously there’ll be a point where we need to start covering our costs, but we’ll make that clear to you. Generally we’re pretty happy to be of assistance because we know that if we help you out you’re pretty likely to come back next time. If a mistake is made on our behalf, we will of course rectify it as quickly as is possible at no cost to you.
- We’re pretty generous when it comes to technical support: One thing you’ll rarely hear from us is ‘that’s not our department’. We realise that we often become a client’s main port of call for anything Internet related, so we’ll always try and help out where we can. If you’re having trouble with some software related to your website, or your e-mail isn’t working, we can often solve the problem for you pretty quickly. Sometimes we might have to refer you to a computer technician, or a hosting company’s technical support team, but if we can help out, we usually do, even if we don’t technically have to, and if you’re only taking up a couple of minutes of our time we don’t usually bother ‘turning on the clock’.
What We Do Charge For
We’re a professional company and we set incredibly high standards of work and customer service. e-CBD has been in business since 1998 and we have a long track record of producing outstanding, cost-effective results. Each team member has at least six years professional experience and we won’t put our name to anything unless it’s world-class. That being said, we also appreciate value for money — we’re a business after all. Our fees are based on our experience, our reputation, the marketplace we operate in and above all, our desire to offer our clients the best value services on offer anywhere.
Work we Quote On
For all new clients and major new projects we will produce a formal written quote and proposal outlining all the scope of the work and the costs involved. We work out how much our time we will need to complete the project, what other services you might need and then itemise everything so you know what you’re up for. Attached to each quote is an acceptance form which you return to us. Once you’ve accepted the quote, we are bound by it (as long as the scope of the project remains the same and you meet your obligations).
Ongoing work, maintenance and changes after a quoted project has been completed
Sometimes a formal proposal and quote isn’t necessary — if the project we quoted on is finished and you want to make updates, or you have ongoing work you need us to carry out it’s too much hassle to have a new quote approved each time. In cases like this we’ll invoice you at an hourly rate (on the first of the month) for the work we do based on how long it took us. There is no minimum ‘call out’ fee, and we charge in blocks of one minute.
